Hi, I’m Laura

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) and have spent the last 15 years of my career walking alongside adolescents, young adults, and their families, as they experience stress, depression, anxiety, school avoidance, recovery from trauma, grief and loss, and developmental life transitions.

For a bulk of those years I have held the role of a middle and high school counselor, which gives me unique insight into what a teen may be experiencing in their every day world. I have also worked in Student Life at the College of Idaho, and have a sensitivity to the challenges that a young adult might face during their college-age years. As a wife and mom of two, I can appreciate the difficulties that women carry from societal and relationship pressures, and would love to help other women find their own voice. Additionally, for those who are interested, I can provide a Christian-based counseling lens. My main goal in therapy is to develop a relationship with the client in which they feel heard and safe so they can explore who they are and who they want to become. I use an integrative therapeutic approach to help identify thinking and behavior patterns that are getting in the way of personal alignment, including Narrative Therapy in which we learn how to tell our own story, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness practices, and a focus on physiology/somatic psychology that brings awareness to “whole body mental health.”
